Areas We are Currently Investing In

Immigration

We are supporting two big campaigns on this issue with our fellow PV Chapters in Marin and Sonoma, and several other organizations around California. One campaign is Safety Net For All to allow undocumented immigrants to benefit from unemployment. Our second campaign is to update the Registry Bill to give millions of undocumented individuals a pathway to citizenship.

Child Care/Early Education

We are working closely with Senator Ro Khanna to introduce a bill that would give families child care for $10 a day and would allow stay-at-home parents with a child too young for school to benefit from some form of income.

Additionally, we have three parents that are part of the Local Council for Early Education Planning (LPC). Through this work, our parents have a voice in plans for the changes in education and subsidy programs to allow oversight from the people impacted by the council members.

Our members also make great efforts to connect with schools and stay up-to-date with school agendas that may affect preschool sites being closed so parents can discuss with these school councils the importance of maintaining open preschools.
